Yorkshire Day held annually on 1 August is a celebration of the general culture of Yorkshire ranging from its history to its dialect. There are a few reasons why we celebrate Yorkshire Day.

Yorkshire Day is an opportunity to promote the region and celebrate everything good about the county such as. We have a lot to celebrate in our great county from stunning scenery and thriving businesses to our proud heritage.
Although were pretty good at expounding the glory of Yorkshire all year round today is the day when we can really let loose and celebrate all the wonderful things that make up Gods Own Country. Yorkshire Day was first celebrated in 1975 by the Yorkshire Ridings Society beginning as part of a protest movement against local government reforms that came into force in 1974. The 2022 day will be hosted by Keighley wholl be hosting parades food and drink activities for children to enjoy and an artisan market.
